Dear Yanni's Bar & Grill Friends,

Last week we celebrated our 21st year in this amazing community and we want to say thank you!!!! We would not have made it this far without your continued support over the years and we are so appreciative. We are fortunate to be a part of your celebrations and milestones over the years and it's incredible to see new generations of children that grew up on Yanni's food now introducing the tradition to their families.

As you all have supported us over the years, we have tried to do the same serving delicious food, wine and our ever popular budino. We enjoy supporting our community by giving gift certificates to many of our local organizations hosting fundraisers. We have had a special place in our hearts for supporting Rady Children's Hospital, and the auxiliaries. A few years ago we did a fundraiser for a cause called PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal infections). We were able to raise $10,000. Our efforts contributed to hiring a fellow who is doing research and is a part of the newly created Pediatric Inflammatory Brain Disorders(PIBD) program at Rady Children's. PIBD can occur after an infection and many times is misdiagnosed as a psychiatric condition instead of brain inflammation. We are incredibly passionate about PIBD because 11years ago it touched our family and we had difficulty finding a specialist that could identify, diagnose and treat this debilitating condition. Rady Children's has recognized the need to begin a program that will provide care for local families with this very complex brain illness. It is our hope with the money raised, we will assist in hiring a nurse/care coordinator.

We are hosting the first annual PIBD Fundraiser dinner on Monday, April 17th at 5:30pm. Reservations can be made by calling Yanni's Bar & Grill (858)527-0011. We are asking for a $100 per person donation that can be made on our fundraising page or a check can be made out to 'Rady Children's' and will be accepted the night of the event. It will be a fun evening with appetizers, wine and a buffet dinner. There will be auction items, a few giveaways, and Drew Schlosberg the host of Spotlight on the Community Podcast, will emcee.

We hope that you can make it Monday, April 17th, but if you can't we would very much appreciate your consideration in supporting our fundraising efforts by making a donation to the PIBD program. Your donation will be supporting the hospital to take the first steps to help local families find the care that they so desperately need. The process is fast, and secure, and you will be giving a precious tax-deductible gift to children that may otherwise be lost to a psychiatric diagnosis.
